Women's competition

CrossFit Games are a competition where athletes focus on ten skills that improve their physical fitness: speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. The athletes compete on a scale by holding two wooden pegs between their hands. Cutting system

The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. Because the competition is made up of 15 events, a cut to 30 athletes after the seventh or eighth event is very likely. The question is: How will CrossFit adjust points after cuts? The scoring table used during the 2019 games was almost identical to that used in 2021. It is likely that this will continue.

The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts are made at the six initial events. The field is reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. The top 20 competitors then compete for the remaining six events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.

Equipment from Reebok

Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They can be used for multiple fitness goals. Reebok describes this shoe as the "shoe of fitness", but it actually feels more like an ordinary training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The shoes' responsiveness is enhanced thanks to the RopePro tech and the firm midsole.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. The company will no more refer to itself by the name "Reebok Fitness Games", as it does right now.
